A new year means new beginnings, new changes and a new Pantone Color of the Year.  “While the 2013 color of the year, emerald, served as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity, radiant orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination…[t]his season, consumers are looking for a state of thoughtful, emotional and artistic equilibrium. While this need for stability is reflected in the composition of the palette, the inherent versatility of the individual colors allows for experimentation with new looks and color combinations,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director for the Pantone Color Institute.

Also announced in December 2013, by the Pantone Color Institute, were the palettes for Spring of 2014 that make up the “emotional and artistic equilibrium” Eiseman spoke of to create the perfect balance of color this spring.   Included in the spring palette are the following 9 colors that will be showcased in the fashion world alongside of Radiant Orchid: Placid Blue, Violet Tulip, Hemlock, Paloma, Sand, Freesia, Cayenne, Celosia Orange and Dazzling Blue.
